The traditional GED program was revised in January 2014 to address the content of the new 2014 GED exam. The new GED exam is computer-based and designed to meet High School Equivalency (HSE) standards. HSE standards are based on high school graduate skills in the areas of reading, writing, math, social studies and science.
Chaffey Adult School's GED/HSE program offers classes designed to prepare students to pass the GED computer based exam. Students are required to take an assessment before placement and attend an orientation session. All classes are facilitated by an instructor, are self-paced and students must commit to attending class at least 3 days per week for the full class period. A textbook is required for all GED classes and is available for purchase in the office. Cousework is also available online. Students should register for GED/HSE preparation classes at the 7th Street campus.
