ABE
Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes focus curriculum on improving your reading, writing and math skills. Each class is taught through direct instruction from a credentialed teacher. The highly focused six-week sessions will prepare you to transition to the GED preparation or high school diploma classes, whichever meets your educational goal.
A pre-test will be given in the office to insure proper program placement. Students will attend an orientation session to outline program expectations and set educational and personal goals. Contact the office for orientation dates and time. These classes are available at no charge.

GED
The GED is a test of high school skills in the areas of writing, social studies, science, reading and math. We offer GED preparation classes using official practice tests. All classes are self-paced. Each student will be required to take an assessment before placement. Students need to commit to attending class for at least 3 days a week for the full time of the class period.
The Steck-Vaughn Complete GED Preparation Textbook is required for all GED classes. The textbook is available for purchase in the office.
Students attending Chaffey Adult School preparation classes will have the amount of registration fee discounted toward GED examination fee, when taking the full battery of tests. Exam fee for retest is $25 per test.
