Chaffey Adult School
is offering a variety of computer technology courses to enable students
to compete in the current office environment. All are open-entry,
instructor guided and tutorial based. Courses are geared toward
preparation for the MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) Exam. Computer courses can also be
taken for high school credit.
Courses include Keyboarding I &
II, Computer Competency, Computer Applications I, and Outlook. Microsoft 2007 (Word Processing I & II, Excel I & II, Access and PowerPoint). Day and evening classes
available. Can be taken for credit. There is a $45 fee for each module.

Academic Assessment Test Preparation
This class is designed to help
applicants prepare for the Academic Assessment test as required for
instructional aides in accordance with “No Child Left Behind Act.”
Students will review math and English skills. Cost of the test is

Tune-Up Mechanic - Automotive Technology: Drivability and Performance Repair
Drivability and Performance Repair course is a weekly class in which students will work in a live lab setting. Each student is assigned work on automobiles that are brought into the shop to be repaired. Task sheets, time logs, repair orders, parts orders and other required work will be used for students to gain job skills of an entry level automotive tune-up technician. An Adult School Certificate will be presented to those students who complete required competency tasks.
The areas of training will be Engine Performance and Drivability Repair which includes understanding how the cars computer works and the repairs of this system. The class will be completed in 3 modules; each module will be 50 hours of training. Class meets one night a week for three hours a night, for 17 weeks.

Plumber - Plumbing Service and Repair
Chaffey Adult School is excited to introduce a Plumbing course. This course is an introduction to the plumbing technology/trade. Course curriculum is standards based from the California Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards. Students will learn the importance of safety and safe work practices including the safe use of tools and machines (cutters, wrenches, taps, dies, etc.) used by plumbers. They will understand the appropriate use of materials (PVC, galvanized, copper pipes, adhesives, etc.) used in the trade and demonstrate procedures and processes (layout, cutting, assembly, etc.) used in plumbing projects. Students will understand and identify career opportunities in the plumbing and construction industries.
Students will receive a certificate of completion and then be able to advance to the Plumbing II course.
