INGLÉS COMO SEGUNDO IDIOMA (ESL)

En las clases de inglés, los estudiantes aprenden a entender, hablar, leer y escribir inglés para varios propósitos: conseguir empleo o mejorar empleo, estudiar otras materias, hacerse ciudadano, ayudar a sus niños en la escuela, o simplemente vivir mejor en este país.
El contenido de las clases se basa en las necesidades y los intereses de los estudiantes.
Se matricula para las clases de inglés a partir del primer día de clase, según el cupo, sin costo.

  • Inglés - Principiante (B)
    (Alfabetismo, Principiantes nivel bajo,
    Principiantes nivel alto)
    Este curso es para estudiantes que hablan, leen, y escriben poco inglés y para los que no hablan
    nada de inglés. Los estudiantes aprenderán a
    comunicar mensajes básicos para situaciones
    cotidianas.

  • Inglés – Intermedio (I)
    (Intermedio nivel bajo; Intermedio nivel alto)
    Este curso es para estudiantes que ya comprenden y comunican a un nivel básico en inglés.
    Los estudiantes aprenderán a comunicarse con
    más facilidad y comenzar a comprender inglés
    en situaciones nuevas.
  • Inglés – Avanzado (A)
    (Avanzado nivel bajo; Avanzado nivel alto)
    Este curso es para estudiantes que ya comprenden y utilizan el inglés en varias situaciones distintas, pero quienes necesitan más estudio y más práctica con situaciones y temas complejas y técnicas.

  • Inglés – Mixto (M)
    (Mixto nivel bajo (MLo); Mixto nivel alto (MHi)
    Estudiantes con niveles distintas de habilidad en
    inglés estudian en las misma sala de clase, en
    grupos grandes o pequeños, conforme con sus
    necesidades.
  • TUTORÍA EN INGLES EN BASE A LA COMUNIDAD (CBET)
    El curso CBET esta diseñado para el desarrollo del idioma inglés para padres de familia y otros
    adultos. El CBET también entrena a los padres/adultos a ayudar a niños de edad escolar con el aprendizaje en casa.

ESL (English as a Second Language)/ EL Civics

In ESL classes, students learn to understand, speak, read, and write in English for many reasons: to get a job or a better job, to go to school, to become citizens, to help their children in school, or to live more successfully in the United States. Class lessons are based on students’ needs and interests.
Students register for classes the first day of
school. Registration is first come/first served.
Students may enter a class at any time if there is space.

  • ESL Beginning (B)
    (Beginning Literacy, Beginning Low, Beginning High)
    This course is for students who speak, read, and write little or no English. Students learn to communicate basic messages for common situations.
  • ESL Intermediate (I)
    (Intermediate Low, Intermediate High)
    This course is for students who can understand and communicate simple messages in English.
    Students learn to communicate more easily in common situations and learn to understand English in new situations.
  • ESL Advanced (A)
    (Advanced Low, Advanced High)
    This course is for students who understand and use English in many different situations, but need additional study and practice to speak and write fluently in complex and technical situations and subjects.
  • ESL Multi-Level (M)
    (Multi-Level Low – MLo, Multi-Level High – MHi)
    Students at different levels of English ability study in the same classroom in small groups,
    depending on student needs.
  • COMMUNITY BASED ENGLISH TUTORING (CBET)
    The CBET class is designed to develop English language skills for parents and other adult learners. CBET also trains parents/adults to tutor their school-aged children at home.
