Parent-Child Relationship

Chaffey Adult School - Providing Opportunities for Lifelong Learning.

Parent-Child Relationship

Classes are designed to help parents identify, analyze, and practice their own life skills which influence their ability to parent with confidence. Principles of Learning, Personalities, Parenting Styles, and Child Growth and Development Theory, as well as many other practical topics are discussed. Parents will also learn positive skills of solving behavior problems. This will be done through teacher lead discussions, observation and working with the children. Teamwork, working in small groups, following the teacher’s lead and networking are valuable skills and a significant benefit of this unique program.

The program is a safe, structured yet flexible environment providing age-appropriate activities involving both parent and child to stimulate cognitive, social and emotional development.

The child will be provided an environment to “learn through play and discovery”. Field trips will also be a valuable part of the parent/child experience in this program.

Class curriculum is designed to focus on the specific needs of the child’s age group for that class. Parent curriculum is designed to help identify those areas unique to the child’s age group for successful and effective parenting.

Class fee is for a 9 week session for parent and one child. A $25.00 fee will be charged for each additional participating child.
